Activities

Haukelister is situated between two of Norway’s most majestic, wild and untouched areas of wilderness. Behind it lies the Hardangervidda national park, with Northern Europe’s biggest wild reindeer herd. To the south you will find Setesdalsheiene, and both these areas provide excellent year-round trekking/skiing opportunities. You can do walks in non-demanding terrain or more challenging climbs to the highest peaks! Or maybe a day-trip to one of Norway’s southernmost glaciers, Nupsfonn? The choice is yours; the unspoiled mountain is waiting to be explored. If you lack the skill and know-how or don’t feel like exploring the mountains on your own, Haukeliseter provides advice and guided tours.

In the summer we also provide boats, kayaks, canoes and fishing equipment for hire in order to take full advantage of the excellent fishing opportunities in the lake on the resorts doorstep.

During the winter you can go skiing, either at the nearby downhill ski center, or just out amongst the mountains. We also arrange dog sledge-tours, ski-kite courses and familly activities.

If you like music, or if you just happen to pass by at the right time, we strongly reccomend that you visit the scandinavian folk music festival that we have in June.
