Our food concept

Our kitchen have a cross-over concept. The ingredients are often local and traditional, such as lamb, reindeer, grouse and trout - and are prepared with an international inspiration with a particular emphasis on the Mediterranean. We want to give you surprises and new tastes. In Haukeliseter little Norway melts with the rest of the world!

Three course evening menu
This is a set menu which changes with the seasons. It has been ranked the 7th best in Norway by the newspaper DN and is served only in the evenings. We also have a recommended vine package each night to enhance the taste.

Cafémenu
This menu offers a range of different meals. This option is particularly popular with guests passing through Huakeliseter, but it is also available to guests staying overnight who prefer a more basic option than a three course meal.
Whatever option you choose we hope you will enjoy your meal!

The Local Food Project
Den Norske Turistforening (DNT) and the Agricultural Department is working together on a pilot scheme with the aim of increasing the amount of local produce used in the production of food, and Haukeliseter is part of this project. This means that the produce we use often come from local suppliers or that we pick, fish or catch what we need from the local mountain flora and fauna. This is what we call short distance produce and the aim is to preserve Norway’s cultural landscape.
